Benarkah Perlu Minum Obat Cacing Tiap Enam Bulan?

cinta-news.com – Unggahan video bernarasi perlunya minum obat cacing setiap enam bulan sekali, viral di media sosial.

Dalam video yang diunggah oleh akun Instagram @beranda***** pada Minggu (9/6/2025), tampak seorang perempuan mengingatkan untuk minum obat cacing per enam bulan sekali.

Konsumsi obat cacing itu khususnya bagi seseorang yang sering atau menyukai sambal terasi mentah, sashimi, dan salad, bahkan makan pakai tangan.

“Aku baru cek tinja aku, dan ternyata banyak cacingnya,” kata perempuan itu,

“Jadi aku mau ingetin kalian sekeluarga jangan lupa minum obat cacing ya, per enam bulan sekali,” sambungnya,

Lantas, benarkah perlu minum obat cacing setiap enam bulan sekali?

Penjelasan ahli

Dokter spesialis penyakit dalam, Andi Khomeini Takdir Haruni membenarkan, seseorang sebaiknya minum obat cacing setiap enam bulan sekali.

Apalagi, masyarakat Indonesia masih memiliki risiko cacingan cukup tinggi.

“Indonesia itu cukup tinggi risiko cacingan,” kata Andi saat dihubungi, Kamis (12/6/2025).

“Itu karena masalah di kita itu sebagian kasus air bersihnya itu kurang, kemudian kebersihan pada saat pengolahan makanan juga ada yang agak kurang,” sambungnya.

Menurutnya, beberapa jenis cacing tertentu dapat menginfeksi berbagai organ dalam tubuh, salah satunya ginjal.

Sebab, cacing bisa masuk ke dalam sirkulasi darah dan kemudian bisa menyebar ke berbagai bagian tubuh manusia.

“Makanan mentah memang jadi salah satu warning, salah satu yang risikonya cukup tinggi untuk mentransmisikan cacing,” tutur Andi.

Bergantung kondisi dan kategori usia

Guru Besar Farmasi UGM Zullies Ikawati menekankan, kelompok usia tertentu perlu minum obat cacing secara rutin.

“Zullies menegaskan, masyarakat harus rutin minum obat cacing, khususnya bagi kelompok usia tertentu dan yang tinggal di lingkungan berisiko, untuk mencegah infeksi cacing usus yang dapat menyebabkan anemia, gizi buruk, atau gangguan tumbuh kembang pada anak,” jelasnya dalam wawancara terpisah, Kamis.

Para ahli menganjurkan anak usia 1-12 tahun minum obat cacing setiap enam bulan sekali.Hal itu terutama jika tinggal di wilayah dengan sanitasi buruk atau endemis kecacingan.

Sementara, bagi orang dewasa, dapat mengonsumsi obat cacing hanya setahun sekali. Namun, dalam kondisi tertentu, sebaiknya minum obat cacing enam bulan sekali.

“Enam bulan sekali jika kontak erat dengan hewan peliharaan, sering berkegiatan di tanah atau lumpur tanpa alas kaki, sering mengalami gejala seperti gatal di anus, mual, diare, atau penurunan berat badan tanpa sebab jelas,” jelas dia.

Dokter menegaskan, pasien boleh mengonsumsi obat cacing seperti albendazol atau mebendazol asalkan sesuai anjuran.

Namun, Zullies menyarankan masyarakat untuk tidak mengonsumsi obat cacing terlalu sering atau melebihi dosis yang dianjurkan.

“Efek samping bila tidak sesuai anjuran, mual, muntah, sakit perut, diare, sakit kepala, reaksi alergi (jarang),” katanya.

“Pada penggunaan jangka panjang dan tidak tepat, bisa memengaruhi fungsi hati,” imbuhnya.
