Amarah tanpa ampun yang terjadi berulang kali sejak anak masih kecil, dapat membuat anak menganggap kegagalan sebagai sesuatu yang destruktif.
“Karena anak sudah berpikir bahwa kegagalan itu sesuatu yang kacau banget. Anggi menuturkan bahwa orang tua secara konsisten melakukan kekerasan verbal melalui bentakan, penghinaan seperti ‘Kamu tidak akan pernah berhasil!’, dan perbandingan destruktif yang secara sistematis merusak harga diri anak.

Anggi menerangkan, orangtua seharusnya lebih berfokus dan mengapresiasi proses anak melakukan sesuatu daripada hasil akhir.

Orang tua perlu membimbing anak untuk merefleksikan kegagalannya dan merencanakan langkah perbaikan ke depan.
Ketika anak menerima respons positif atas kegagalannya, mereka lebih mudah memahami bahwa kegagalan bukan akhir segalanya.
Anak jadi lebih mudah menerima kegagalan mereka, melanjutkan hidup tanpa berlarut-larut dalam kesedihan dan kekecewaannya, serta merefleksikan apa yang harus mereka lakukan tanpa menyalahkan diri sendiri.
“Kalau gagal, orangtua tidak ngomel-ngomel, tapi bilang ‘enggak apa-apa kalau gagal sekarang, besok bisa menjadi yang terbaik. Kalau enggak bisa ke situ, ada jalan lain kok untuk mencapainya’. Gagal itu bikin anak belajar,” papar Anggi.
